Japanese New Year Miniature Costume

This is a miniature fashion doll outfit made to show that I can produce fine details down the millimeter. Along the way in producing small clothes several questions ran through my mind. Such as how do you make sure the fabric doesn't fray? How do you create flares even though they're patterned in? How do you get the fabric to stay where you want it? Do closures exist this small? I was never more excited to try a different technique or a new way of making a pattern then in this project.

Patterns

For every fabric piece a pattern was made so the costume could be replicated if necessary in the future

What would i do different next time?

I would 3D print the flowers holding the tassels to ensure they all looked the exact same

I would also want the the white shoes 3D printed to ensure they fit properly and looked smooth and identical

I would take more time on pattern pieces that i had to hand sew

I would try to take more time when sculpting, as it's not my strong suit

I would create better linings when needed
